Sony Center

Sony Center (Potsdamer Platz, Berlin) – during the Cold War, this entertainment center would not have existed, since it’s located in areas taken up by East and West Berlin (which was divided by the infamous Berlin Wall). With the end of the Cold War, Sony built this futuristic-looking facility in 2000 – complete with an Imax theater (often used to hold Hollywood-style film premieres, the Legoland Discovery Centre (for school children), various restaurants, and some high-end retailers. There are also condo apartments for upper income local and foreign residents, as well as other floors dedicated to businesses, and of course, Sony’s European headquarters.
