Anti-Kriegs Museum

Museo Anti-Kriegs
Anti-Kriegs Museum (Brüsseler Straße 21, Berlin Wedding) – located in the Wedding District of Berlin, the Anti-War Museum showcases historical facts on the topics of war and peace, and features an original air raid shelter from World War II. This privately-run museum was founded by staunch pacifist Ernst Friedrich in 1925, destroyed in 1933 by the Nazis, and was finally re-opened by Friedrich’s grandson Tommy Spree in 1982.
Photographs, documents and objects from World Wars I & II are on display, including medals, pro-war propaganda post cards, original diaries and letters from soldiers, and photographs of the maimed. Also on display are war toys from previous times. Visitors can journey down a staircase directly into an original air raid shelter from World War II, geared with original utensils from that time — where one can see first-hand what it was like to sit and wait for the bombs to fall during many sleepless nights. Admission: Free. Hours: 4 pm – 8 pm daily.
